I honestly feel that it could be now or never for the club.
We had a fantastic season last year and the start to this season has exceeded expectations. We're watching fantastic players playing with pride and 100% commitment in the shirt. We've also got, IMO, super league quality players in Armstrong, ridy, brierley, beswick, moi moi, Barlow and hock to name just a few. With rowley we are playing fast exciting/attractive rugby. It's the best Leigh team that I have seen in twenty years.
We also play in a fantastic ground that is the envy of a lot of professional clubs.
With the new structure and with going full time we're in a great place to challenge in the middle 8s and hopefully achieve our goals of super league.
The current board are working hard and the club is the most professional than I've ever known in recent times. Plus they're, or now it seems Derek is putting his cash in to take the club forward.
For me this is now the time for every leyther to stand up and be counted. If you want a class side, to be watching the best Leigh team possible, to compete in the 8s and have any chance of promotion and securing our place in sl then we have to get more people down to the lsv to get hooked.
We've had some great attendances this year and I'd say we've had 4 or 5k leythers at a few games - Bradford, London and Salford. Let's make sure they come to the batley game. Bring your family and friends, get them a ticket and hopefully if they enjoy it they'll come back.
For the sake of the club, more bums on seats make a financially healthier club, and to show the players and board that we're buying into the club too bring anyone you can to the next couple of home games!
