| Surely it will only apply to those players who were in the squad that was relegated from the premiership and had their salaries halved? Surely those that joined this year will not get a doubling of their current deal?

| If they've deep pockets Tad, £8m isn't really a huge amount to overpay.. whether they have bought well remains to be seen though, and they will miss a fair few games for AFCON

| I agree. Sometimes an extra 3 or 4 million to get the player you think can make a difference has to be done. No point thinking what if we had spent that and live to regret it. We have the money so let`s go for it.

| Yes totally agree mate. It's like Anton Stach that the club told the YEP they really like, why is it not done yet, fee is for him is meant to be around £17m ish... he's clearly very good and would be a big upgrade on Gruev, he'd also give Ampadu serious competition.. just get it done at that price... reports are saying from Sky Germany the deal can be done but Leeds have only enquired, not even bid yet... crackers... can understand the growing fan frustration at the moment..

| I think Tad if the fee is 17m and we offer 23m then yes it does seem bad business. But if the fee is 17m and we offer 12 and it`s turned down. Go back and more or less pay the asking price if the club think he will make a difference. Seems Sunderland are waiting to see who we fancy and then outbid us.
